Balreed Takes Pride in Supporting Five-A-side

MAIDSTONE, June 28th – Balreed was the main sponsor for a five-a-side football match earlier this month which saw local businesses pull together to raise more than £7,000 for charity.

On Saturday June 11th staff from Balreed’s Head Office in Maidstone pulled on their socks and strapped on their shin-pads to become one of 48 teams to compete in teams of five at Cobdown Sports and Social Club in Aylesford.

Tackles were made and goals were scored in aid of Medway Maritime’s Oliver Fisher Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the chosen beneficiary of the event which is now into its third year thanks to organisers Pearson Whiffin Recruitment Agency.

Managing Director Robin Stanton-Gleaves, who was part of the Balreed team on the day, said: “Balreed have worked closely with Pearson for some time now and each year we marvelled at the hard work that went into the event for such a fantastic cause. We were proud to have taken on a significant role in this year’s tournament. All teams were comprised of local people and businesses creating some camaraderie amongst the competitiveness.”

Balreed made it to the Championship League Final before being knocked out. The Champions Cup winners were NCS Limited and The Consolation Cup was won by Glorose Engineering.
