Balreed appoints Steve Algeo as Group Finance Director

MAIDSTONE, JULY 20, 2010 - Balreed Digitec today announced that it has appointed Steve Algeo to the Balreed Digitec UK Board in the role of Group Finance Director.

Algeo joins Balreed following an extensive post as Group Financial Controller for IKON Office Solutions, until its acquisition by Ricoh. Bringing with him more than 11 years experience in his field, Algeo will be based at Balreed's new head office in Maidstone's 20/20 Business Park.

Balreed takes top honours at Konica Minolta Awards

MAIDSTONE, JUNE 8, 2010 - Balreed Digitec were recognised as the UK's most outstanding dealer by Konica Minolta at their recent Dealer Conference, held in Dubai.

The Blue Ribbon Award, Konica Minolta's highest, was presented to Balreed Digitec. "The Blue Ribbon is given to our top dealer in recognition of their outstanding achievements in revenue growth, unit sales and performance against targets. In all these respects Balreed Digitec was our top performer and they thoroughly deserve the Blue Ribbon" explained Colin Hayes, Regional Manager at Konica Minolta.

In addition to the Blue Ribbon, Balreed received 4 other awards at the event.

Balreed appoints new Group Marketing Director

MAIDSTONE, JUNE 4, 2010 - Balreed Digitec has appointed Gary Downey to the Balreed Digitec UK Board in the role of Group Marketing Director

Downey was previously Marketing Director for IKON unitl its acquisition by Ricoh in November 2008. He played a major role in leading the transition of IKON to a solutions provider.

Strong demand for Balreed's print, scan and copy systems, and Balreed's unique remote managed service delivery, has driven rapid growth in the business.  In response the company has developed a new 20,000 square feet multi-purpose Head Office site on the 20/20 Business Park in Maidstone, Kent.

Alfred Dunhill Links Championship 2009

Balreed Digitec is proud to be an Official Supplier of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

For the second year running Balreed has supplied equipment across all three courses and our expert service personnel have been on site throughout the tournament to provide training, support and maintenance.

The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship is played over three magnificent courses;- The Old Course - St Andrews, The Championship Course - Carnoustie and Kingsbarns.  The Championship brings together a cross-section of amateur golfers from all walks of life who each play with a professional partner.

Each year the playing roster includes some of the biggest names from the world of entertainment, sport and business.  Members of our team will be representing Balreed Digitec and taking part in the Championships.

Balreed Digitec Group Latest Acquisition

Balreed Group Acquires Copyplan

Print Production News

Konica 6501hc  

Physically this product is very similar to the current production KM 6501 in terms of looks and general working components; however Konica have found a niche market in terms of replicating the gamut of RGB & sRGB using the CMYK colour process.

Balreed sent the production team up to Konica Minolta head office to test, compare & assess what they felt about Konica's new device. The feed back from the team was the quality & detail were truly outstanding & a major step forward in the digital print market.

So what's the difference?

The HiChro toner that the machine uses builds on the group’s Simitri HD toner technology, and is said to reflect 80% of light, producing more vibrant images compared to its Simitri HD toner with 60% reflection.

The toner also has a fusing temperature of around 15 degrees lower than conventional toners, which means that the machine can run on less energy. Another attraction for environmentally conscious users is that the Simitri HiChro toner generates less waste and emits 40% less CO2, NO2 and SO2 than the production of pulverised toners.
